This is how social media works
Every now and then people need to hear a real simple story on how a social media presence translated into a tangible ROI.
So here's one that I'll share.
9 a.m.: I get a call from a friend who had a small business in Beaufort and has relocated to Jacksonville. He tells me he's looking for some Drupal CMS help and a photographer to shoot his product. I recall that I'm connected via Twitter and Facebook with a cool co-working group in Palm Coast, Fla., less than an hour away from my friend.
10:00 a.m.: I post on Office Divvy's Facebook wall that my friend is looking for help and that I would like to send him their way.
11:15: Office Divvy writes back and says they've already connected with my friend, and I, presume, they've already sent him in the right direction.
So it took less than two hours for my friend to find the services he needs and for some Drupal developer and photographer out there to find work. And all because I decided to follow Office Divvy on Twitter a year or so back.
Doesn't seem too difficult or like too much effort does it?
